How to delete your superwhisper account, and the data on your Mac that deletion leaves behind
By Ryleigh Newman · Published
There is no delete button in superwhisper. To delete your account you send an email, and superwhisper finishes within 30 days. The account itself holds little, because superwhisper keeps your transcripts and audio on your device, not on its servers. That also means deleting the account does nothing to the recordings on your Mac, which you remove separately.
I built YapToText, a different dictation app for the Mac, so read what I say about superwhisper with that in mind. Every fact about superwhisper here comes from its own docs, read on October 10, 2026.
This app is completely free. You don't have to make an account. There are no subscriptions, no difficult downloads, and nothing is locked. Made for Apple silicon Macs. Source on GitHub.

Delete the account
- Email [email protected] from the address on your account.
- Use the subject Delete my account.
- If you used Filesync, say so in the email, so your synced settings are removed too.
- superwhisper confirms it received the request, completes the deletion within 30 days, and replies when it is done.
If you pay for a subscription, cancel it as well. The cancel page has the steps.
What superwhisper holds, and what happens to it
From superwhisper's docs, Account and Data Deletion, read October 10, 2026.
| Data | On deletion |
|---|---|
| Your email address | Obfuscated so it no longer identifies you |
| Billing records | Kept in anonymized form, because tax law requires transaction records |
| Transcripts and audio | Never stored on superwhisper's servers, so nothing to delete there |
| Synced settings, with Filesync on | Removed if you mention Filesync in the request |
What stays on your Mac
Transcripts, recordings, modes, vocabulary and settings live on your computer, and account deletion does not touch them. Delete recordings in History. To remove everything, the docs point to superwhisper's clean uninstall steps, and warn that uninstalling the app alone leaves the data folder in place. The uninstall page walks through it, and the backup page shows where that folder is if you want a copy first.
Work accounts and privacy requests
- Enterprise members. Your organization's admin deletes your account, through SCIM deprovisioning or the Member Management dashboard.
- A whole organization. Admins email [email protected].
- Access, correction or a copy of your data. Email [email protected], which answers within the deadlines the applicable law sets.
YapToText has no account to delete
YapToText has no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no tracking, so there is nothing on a server to ask anyone to remove. Your history, settings and dictionaries live in the app's own container on your Mac, and deleting the app deletes all of it. Inside the app, Erase All Data in Settings, Advanced removes settings, modes, dictionaries, commands, history and saved audio in one step. The privacy page says exactly what the app stores.
