Cancel superwhisper: the subscription, the refund, and what you keep

To cancel a superwhisper subscription bought on its website, open superwhisper.com/billing, sign in with your purchase email and choose Cancel subscription. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then the account moves to the free plan. A purchase through the App Store or Google Play is cancelled with Apple or Google instead.
I make a different dictation app and have never bought superwhisper, so these steps are from its own documentation, read on October 9, 2026.

- Find out where you bought it: superwhisper.com, the App Store or Google Play.
- For a website purchase, open superwhisper.com/billing and choose Cancel subscription.
- For a store purchase, cancel in that store's subscriptions.
- Within 30 days of the first purchase, request a refund with the form.

superwhisper's own billing portal cannot see a store purchase, so use the store that charged you.
The 30-day refund
- Every individual plan. Monthly, Annual and Lifetime all have a 30-day refund window from the date of the first purchase.
- Self-serve on the website. Fill in the refund request form with your purchase email and confirm from the link it sends. The docs say the money shows on your statement within 5 to 10 days.
- Renewals are different. A renewal charge is not refundable on its own, because the window starts at the first purchase. Cancel before the renewal date.
- Store purchases. Apple and Google handle refunds for their own sales.
What you keep after cancelling
Your custom modes, vocabulary and history stay on your device. The docs say that if you subscribe again, everything is where you left it.
- The free plan stays. You keep unlimited dictation with local Whisper models and up to two modes without AI processing.
- What goes. Cloud models, AI modes, file transcription and meeting features need Pro.
- A Lifetime license. It never expires, so there is nothing to cancel. A recovered Lifetime key activates at once.
Dictating afterward
If you are leaving because of the price, the free plan may be all you need. If you miss the formatting, YapToText includes it for free on an Apple silicon Mac.
- Formatting. Auto mode cleans up each dictation on the Mac.
- Voice editing. Quick Edit rewrites a selection from a spoken instruction.
- Files. It transcribes audio and video files on the Mac.
- What it lacks. It has no Windows or phone app and no meeting features.
