How to uninstall superwhisper completely, and delete your account

To uninstall superwhisper on a Mac, quit it from the menu bar icon, delete Superwhisper from Applications, and, to remove your data too, delete the superwhisper folder in your home directory. Deleting the app alone leaves your history, recordings, modes and vocabulary in place. To delete your account, email [email protected] from the account's address with the subject Delete my account.

Steps

  1. Quit superwhisper from its menu bar icon.
  2. Move Superwhisper from Applications to the Trash.
  3. Delete the ~/superwhisper folder to remove history, recordings and modes.
  4. Cancel any subscription at superwhisper.com/billing.

Uninstall on a Mac

  1. Click the superwhisper menu bar icon and choose Quit.
  2. Open Applications and move Superwhisper to the Trash.
  3. To remove your data, delete the superwhisper folder in your home directory. Skip this step if you want your history and modes back after a reinstall.

Older installs used ~/Documents/superwhisper, and the folder can be somewhere else if you changed App folder location in advanced settings. In the Finder, Shift Command G opens Go to Folder, where you can paste the path.

Uninstall on Windows

  1. Open Settings, then Apps, and uninstall Superwhisper.
  2. To remove your data, delete the app data folder below.

What is in the data folder

History, recordings, modes, vocabulary and replacements. superwhisper's docs warn that deleting it is permanent, and that reinstalling the app never touches the folder. If you might come back, keep the folder, or back it up before you delete it.

Stop paying first

Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription. Sign in at superwhisper.com/billing and cancel there, or through Apple or Google if you bought in a phone's store. Every individual plan has a 30-day refund window from the first purchase. The cancellation page has each path, and the license page covers refunds.

Delete your account

Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject Delete my account. Its docs say they confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days. Your email address is obfuscated, and billing records are kept in anonymized form because tax law requires it.

superwhisper says it never stores your transcripts or audio on its servers, so there is nothing else to delete there, unless you used Filesync, which syncs configuration through its servers. Mention Filesync in the request if you did.
