How to cancel a Willow Voice subscription, on a Mac or through Apple

Where you cancel Willow Voice depends on where you subscribed. If you bought it on a Mac, open Willow, go to Settings, and select Manage Billing, which opens a Stripe portal with Cancel Subscription. If you bought it on an iPhone, cancel in Apple's Subscriptions settings. A Mac subscription cancels at the end of the current billing period.

If you subscribed on a Mac
- Open the Willow app.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Manage Billing.
- Enter the email you used when you bought the subscription. That opens your Stripe customer portal.
- Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.
The subscription cancels at the end of the current billing period, so you keep Pro until then. The same portal is where you change a card, update billing details and download invoices.
If you subscribed on an iPhone
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find Willow and tap Cancel Subscription.
Willow's help center says iPhone subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Willow or Stripe, so billing questions for those go through Apple.
If you are not sure where you subscribed
One subscription covers every device, so the app on your Mac can show Pro that was bought on a phone. Try Manage Billing first. If the portal has no subscription under your email, check Apple's Subscriptions. Willow's help center also offers to point you to the right place by email.
What you keep on the free plan
Willow's Basic plan is free. When I read its pages on October 5 and 6, 2026, Basic included dictation on its smaller model, 20 Scribe uses a week and up to 5 minutes per dictation, and Pro added the larger model, unlimited Scribe, longer dictations and offline dictation. The Willow Voice pricing page has the full table, and the discounts page lists the student and nonprofit rates if price is the reason.
A free option with nothing to cancel
YapToText, the dictation app I built, is free with no paid tier and no account. It runs on an Apple silicon Mac, with cleanup built in, and has no word or time allowance to watch. It does not run on Windows or a phone, which Willow does. The Willow Voice alternative page compares the two.
