How to cancel a Typeless subscription, what happens to refunds, and what the free plan leaves you

To cancel Typeless Pro, open the Typeless app, go to the Account page, and cancel under Subscription. That is where Typeless's help center points. Refunds are issued only when legally required, or under the refund policy of the app store you bought through. After Pro ends you are on the Free plan, which allows 8,000 words a week.

Cancel in the app
- Open Typeless.
- Go to the Account page.
- Find Subscription, and cancel there.
If that does not work, the help center says to write to Typeless's support address. If you subscribed through an app store, the store's own subscription page is where its refund policy applies.
Refunds
Typeless says refunds are issued only when legally required or under the refund policy of the app store you bought through. So cancelling stops future charges and does not, by itself, return what you paid. The yearly price is billed once, which makes this matter more on a yearly plan.

A new account starts on Free automatically, and Free is a plan, not a trial. The Typeless pricing page has the full table and the student discount.
Before you cancel
- Save what you need. History lets you copy transcripts and download audio. The History and Dictionary page shows how.
- Export your words. The help center describes importing a CSV into Dictionary. I did not find an export described, so copy the list if you want it elsewhere.
- A team. Paid plans support adding members, so check who else is on the plan.
If you are leaving because of the price
YapToText, the app I built, is free with no paid tier, no account and no word count, so there is nothing to cancel. It runs on an Apple silicon Mac and does its work there, with no internet needed. It has no Windows, Linux or phone version, no live translation and nothing for teams, all of which Typeless has.
