Typeless guides: every page on this site about Typeless, by topic
By Ryleigh Newman · Published
This is an index of the 18 pages on this site about Typeless, grouped by what you are trying to do: get started, change a setting, fix a problem, understand the price, or compare it with something else. It is not Typeless's official documentation, which is at www.typeless.com/help.
I built YapToText, a different dictation app for the Mac, so read what I say about Typeless with that in mind. Every fact on these pages comes from Typeless's own site, with the date it was read.
This app is completely free. You don't have to make an account. There are no subscriptions, no difficult downloads, and nothing is locked. Made for Apple silicon Macs. Source on GitHub.

Features and settings
- Typeless for Windows, Linux and Phones. Typeless has downloads for macOS, Windows and Linux, plus iPhone and Android apps. Default shortcuts, the 9-minute limit, and what stays in the cloud.
- Typeless History and Dictionary. Typeless History lets you copy, retry, download or delete a dictation and set how long it is kept. Dictionary takes names and terms, one by one or by CSV.
- Typeless Translate. Use Typeless Translate on a Mac: press Fn and Left Shift, pick a target language on the Voice bar, speak, then press Fn. How to set several targets.
Fix a problem

Price, plans and billing
- Cancel Typeless Pro. Cancel Typeless Pro under Subscription on the Account page in the app. Refunds are limited, and the free plan still gives 8,000 words a week afterward.
- Typeless Pricing. Typeless pricing, checked October 5, 2026: the free plan's 8,000 words a week, Pro at $30 a month or $12 billed yearly, Enterprise, a free on-device app.
- Typeless Promo Code, Referral and Student Discount. What Typeless itself offers instead of a promo code: 50 percent off for students, $5 referral credit, and the yearly price. Plus a free on-device option.
Privacy, data and accounts
- Typeless Privacy. Typeless transcribes in the cloud, with your audio and some on-screen context. What its privacy pages say it keeps, what it deletes, and a local option.

How these pages are made
Each page takes its facts from Typeless's own pages, names the article it came from, and gives the date I read it. When Typeless changes something, the page can be wrong until I catch it, so the date matters. The official source is Typeless's own help center, and that is the place to check anything that affects money or data.
I built YapToText, a free dictation app for Apple silicon Macs, which makes me a rival, and each page says so. The comparison page sets the apps side by side.
This app is completely free. You don't have to make an account. There are no subscriptions, no difficult downloads, and nothing is locked. Made for Apple silicon Macs. Source on GitHub.

If a page here no longer matches Typeless, open an issue on GitHub and I will update this page. Every one gets read.
