Start here

  • How to Use MacWhisper on Mac. MacWhisper step by step from its own help center: install from the official site, transcribe a file, pick a model, export subtitles, and set up dictation.

Features and settings

  • MacWhisper Batch Transcription. Transcribe many files at once in MacWhisper: the Batch window, several export formats per run, cloud file size limits, and the settings that speed it up.
  • MacWhisper Best Model. Which MacWhisper model to pick: a WhisperKit model on Apple silicon, with Turbo as its help center's suggestion, and a cloud provider on an Intel Mac.
  • MacWhisper CLI. MacWhisper ships a command line tool called mw. Install it from Settings, then transcribe files and folders, pick models, and export SRT, VTT, CSV or JSON.
  • MacWhisper Dictation. MacWhisper's dictation types into any text field with a shortcut, but only in the website version. AI prompts, per-app prompts, and the text field fix.
  • MacWhisper Find and Replace. MacWhisper's Global Replace fixes words in every new transcript: replacement pairs, case and whole word options, JSON import, and the Whisper prompt.
